The burning man

The burning man burns forever,
he burns for guilt,
and his guilt is so great
that he accepts his fate without complaint.
The burning man can never be at peace,
and his suffering reflects the seriousness
of the crimes he has commited.
But the burning man does not remember his crimes,
a millenia of suffering has made him forget,
and this has only made his pain grow.
"fire will heal me", he once thought,
but now he knows
that fire can never heal a black heart.
